I attended Stony Brook for my Bachelors in Environmental Science with a minor in Marine Science. I decided to pursue a graduate degree because I thought the MCP program would combine my love for science and my desire to help others understand the importance of marine conservation. I would like to get a job in the field, what exactly that will be I’m not really sure. For anyone considering this program my advice is: don’t panic, I promise it will all work out. It’s easy to freak out about what will happen after graduation, but don’t forget to take time to talk to people in the department and get to know what others are interested in. One thing that gets me fired up about entering this field is, considering all of the science that has already been done, where we are heading as a planet is frightening.
