MAR 535 – Marine Fisheries Management

​This course will provide an understanding of marine fisheries management by connecting basic fisheries biology and management science with actual management procedures currently utilized by federal and state authorities. Review of management principles and procedures, their applications and limitations and understanding of management including food web and predator prey relationships, socioeconomic needs of recreational and commercial fishermen and law enforcement issues will be included. Each student will be required to do a case study on historic and current management of an individual species or issue.
